What is General Surgery?
General surgery is a discipline based on surgical repair of diseases that cannot be treated with drugs or other medical methods, or healing by cutting and removing the diseased organ. The term “surgery”, whose origin goes back to the Latin word “chirurgiae” and means “handiwork”, is used today to treat many diseases through surgery. The Department of General Surgery, which has different fields of study, cooperates with units that have expertise in different fields such as oncology, endocrinology and traumatology. General Surgery, which is one of the areas where new generation medical applications are used most frequently, is a treatment system in which robotic technology is used extensively and successful results are obtained.
General surgery involves many systems in the body, eg. It examines general subjects such as endocrine system (thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal gland..), digestive system (esophagus, stomach, small and large intestines, pancreas, liver, biliary system), breast diseases, trauma, burns and the diseases of these systems are needed. It is a science that provides medical and surgical treatment.
In our Medical Center, all surgical procedures performed in the field of general surgery are performed with the appropriate technical equipment, accompanied by experienced surgeons.
